Brian Keith is an Independent Employment Consultant and Careers Adviser. In his earlier post school years he was engaged in a range of employments, in particular construction, which later assisted in his understanding of employment issues.

In 1984 he gained an MA in History from Dundee University. In 1985-86 he gained Parts 1 and 2 of the Post-graduate Diploma in Career Guidance from Strathclyde University.

Since his first post as a Careers Adviser in 1985, Brian has continuously worked as a Careers Adviser or Senior Careers Adviser, and since 1999 he has additionally, and increasingly, worked as an Employment Consultant involved in Personal Injury cases.

His work as an Employment Consultant has been his principal commitment since 2004 when he commenced work as an independent Employment Consultant and Careers Adviser.

However, Career Guidance remains an important aspect of Brian’s work.

He is a member of various Careers and Vocational related organisations including the Institute of Career Guidance, and is registered with the Law Society of Scotland Directory of Expert Witnesses. He is one of only two Guidance Practitioners in Scotland accredited by the Institute to offer independent Careers Advice.

Throughout his career he has liaised closely with schools, colleges, universities, employers, trainers, solicitors, and others in the field of Employment and Careers.

Since qualifying as a Careers Adviser, he had undergone very considerable further training, both through University and College attendance, and through in-house training. These have included, for example, the Certificate in Special Educational Needs, parts 1 and 2, (1992-1994), and the Adult Guidance Certificate in 1995/96.

He is registered with the British Psychological Society, and qualified and experienced in conducting psychometric testing, for example to assist in assessing ability level, or aptitude.

Brian lives in Perth with his wife and two children. His interests include history, hiking, and trout fishing.


Niall currently works alongside Brian as an Employment Consultant and Careers Adviser, based in their Perth office.

In 2010 Niall gained a First Class Joint Honours degree in Geography & Town Planning from the University of Dundee. During his studies at university Niall also spent considerable time assisting Gordon Cameron (Vocational Consultant) in his work, where he gained valuable experience in the field of employment issues.

Niall began working with Brian in early 2011, and since that time has been involved in a broad spectrum of tasks related to employment, which include preparing Employment Reports, interviewing clients, providing vocational rehabilitation, and conducting original research on disability and the labour market.

In 2012 Niall also gained a post-graduate qualification in Careers Guidance, and since that time providing independent careers advice has formed an important part of his work.

Niall is also the secretary of the Scottish Association of Vocational & Employment Experts (SAVEE).

He also worked in Town Planning for a spell after graduating.

Niall’s other interest including running, fishing and reading.
